Academic and Leadership Excellence
Brewer's senior year at McComb High School was remarkable. He served as Student Body President, played football, and led his team to victory in both the Mock Trial and Odyssey of the Mind State Championships. His Odyssey of the Mind team won the World Championship in creative problem solving in Boulder, Colorado—a first for any team from Pike County. He also participated in the American Legion's Mississippi Boy's State, where he was elected State Auditor. He was later inducted into the McComb High School Alumni Hall of Fame in 2017.

In 1989, Brewer graduated from McComb High School and was appointed by Congressman Wayne Dowdy to the United States Air Force Academy. He graduated in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science degree in behavioral science.
As a Nuclear Missile Launch Officer at Minot Air Force Base from 1993-1995, Brewer commanded ten on-alert Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles with the capability to initiate launch actions for up to 150 nuclear warheads. He was an Ole Miss cheerleader while attending law school and graduate school. He was admitted to the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States in 2015.
After returning to his hometown in 2006, Brewer served as Pike County Youth Court Prosecutor beginning in 2005, McComb City Prosecutor from 2007-2018, and was elected Pike County Attorney in 2008, serving until 2022. Throughout his prosecutorial career, he handled approximately 11,000 to 12,000 cases per year while maintaining a private practice, representing 800 clients and arguing cases in 58 of Mississippi's 82 counties.
